Has anyone ever had the error message
"VPM establishment capability from a remote desktop is disabled. "
when trying to lodge using Cisco AnyConnect?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Unfortunately you can't use the Cisco AnyConnect client software on a Remote Desktop (terminal server) or from a PC through a remote desktop session.
Whilst it is unsupported, the old Cisco VPN client will still work on a Remote Desktop 2012 R2 Server.
I have been using Cisco Anyconnect for over 12 months - I switched to it because of problems with the Cisco VPN!
Can you provide some information on the device you're using to lodge? Also, can you please confirm if you're remotely connected to the device, or tyring to lodge at the device itself. Finally, and I know everyone asks this, but have you tried rebooting the PC?

I am running an AWS Server and, yes, have rebooted numerous times and reinstalled Cisco AnyConnect.
Forgot to add Windows Server 2012.
Given that this issue only occured last week for you both, I would firstly be looking at WIndows updates as @MareePP rightly suggests.
We have seen this happen before - where a windows update (such as network card driver updates) breaks the VPN network stack components.
Quick and easy Fix : uninstall then reinstall AnyConnect - make sure you are using the latest version 3.1.10010.
You can find the installer for AnyConenct in :
