Multiple Business Addresses in AE Tax

My tax client operates 6 different hairdressing salons. I want to show the correct business address for each salon. How can I add multiple business addresses in AE Tax?

Are you lodging 6 separate returns (1 for each Salon) or are you sending all information to the ATO in a single return (with totals across the 6 salons)?

 

The ATO does not provide provision on a return to list multiple business addresses - Consequently, AETax does not have provision to store multiple business addresses in this type of scenario.

 

However, there are many ways that you can set up the AE suite to store multiple addresses for this client.  You could create additional Address types (which would then be able to be used by other clients) or you could use Billing Groups etc.

Hello Matt,

My client is a partnership and has 6 seperate shops. I prepare a seperate Schedule B for each shop, and the figures are collated into the tax return. I am wanting to show the correct shop business address for each store. But AE Tax allows only one business address and I need six!!!!

 

Just because the ATO is so short-sighted with regard to things like multiple business addresses should not mean that MYOB could provide that opportunity. At least I would hope that a programming 'extra' like this could be provided in a future update. Perhaps someone could take this question on as an enhancement request?????

Hi @oldfellamcg

 

I can see your point - it would seem that the ATO in these types of instances, would prefer to see you have departmental financial statements outside of the return and the consolidated result represented in the tax return Schedule B.  Also the idea of a single address could be because the ATO would want one singular point of reference in this regard.

 

While I'm sure that you have either considered or produced departmental Profit and Loss statements, we're happy to and will forward on your request for an enhancement request.
