PLS Pre Lodgement rejection error

When trying to complete a pre-lodgement check on a clients business activity statement with an installment % at T2 - the following errors are received- even though the ATO prefill details have not been altered.

The system wants to remove the instalment amount in the BAS - is this a known error? What should we do?

Re: PLS Pre Lodgement rejection error

Similar error within Live Tax when attempting to validate a BAS. Error received ATO has not passed validation of the return. We phoned MYOB support to be advised that it is a known issue. Haven't been able to locate any support notifications in regards to this "known issue".

Re: PLS Pre Lodgement rejection error

Hi Sam,

We are currently investigating this error with the ATO. It can occur in both desktop AE/AO and using our Online Portal. We have had quite a large influx of rejections with this message within the last week which has not been due to any software changes we have made.

        Errors

                Code:    CMN.ATO.AS.EM023

                Fields:

Summary: You must select a reason for the variation at T4.

This should not appear if you have not entered a value at T3.

For now I would advise urgent returns to be lodged using the Tax Agent Portal, which has an older system that does not get the rejections.

Once we have finished the investigation and have a solution I will reply back to this thread.

Kind Regards,

James

Re: PLS Pre Lodgement rejection error

Our firm have had numerous rejected activity statements in the last 2 weeks since updating our desktop AE. We have had errors similar to the one in this thread as well as errors to do with revision statements, and errors saying we don't have correct authority for clients. We are not preparing any further BAS using MYOB until further notice.

Re: PLS Pre Lodgement rejection error

Hi @AngelaL@pallan and @sambennett,

The ATO have deployed a fix on Friday, so the issue regarding CMN.ATO.AS.EM023 should now be resolved,
