Tax return window resize

Whenever I open a tax return, the window is too small for my liking and I need to resize and move it on my screens.

This happens even when I re-open the same tax return after closing it.

Is there a way for AE Tax to remember window sizes and locations?

Re: Tax return window resize

Hi @RPD,

I've seen this sort of behaviour before when you have a screen management tool installed, like: Splitview, MultiMon, or something that manages windows / screens for you.

Do you happen to have a tool like this installed, and if is so, most of them allow you to specify an application that is excluded from the software. For Tax you would need to excluded the following executables: sr.exe and sr64.exe.

Cheers.

Re: Tax return window resize

Thanks for the reply Stewart.

As far as I know, I have no such tool installed.

It is a brand new machine with multiple video outputs, which I have hooked up to 2 screens.

Every other program I use remembers the window size and position, but not the AE tax returns.

Does anyone else have any ideas i can try?

Regards

Re: Tax return window resize

Hi @RPD

System Release does not store a "window size" within System Release - and instead relies on Windows to remember the Window Size of applications when they open.

We have seen that most users can resolve this with the following steps (although for some reason, this does not always work for all clients).

  1. Open System Release by navigating to the folder that contains SR.EXE
  2. Open System Release and maximize the window
  3. close System Release
  4. Reopen System Release to confirm if the new site "holds"

If the setting is "held" then you can do the same by opening System Release, and then opening a Tax Ledger (again, maximize and close) .

If these settings hold, then you should be able to have it open full screen when opening from AE.
