Amending an Individual Tax Return

I need to amend a 2021 individual tax return. The client received a commonwealth super pension and the 'Australian Superannuation Income Stream Payment Summaries' screen was completed incorrectly. These details prefilled from the ATO but we failed to complete the section regarding the 'Capped defined benefit income stream'.

I have set up an amended return but I am unable to edit this prefill schedule. I am also unable to delete this prefill schedule and then re-enter with the correct details as I get the message 'Cannot delete schedule. Return lodged'.

Please advise how I can amend this return.

Re: Amending an Individual Tax Return

Hi @sandra_p

Thank you for the post!

Unfortunately, we cannot delete the schedule from the amended return, it has to be deleted from the original return before creating the amendment.

Please follow the below steps to delete the schedule from the original and create an amendment.

1) Delete the existing amended return.

2) Open the original return and mark it as in-progress/not lodged (Lodgement>update>IPTCF forms>single return>in progress/not lodged).

Note: You will see a prompt, this form has been lodged cannot be lodged electronically. click ok to proceed.

3) Delete the schedules as required, and then mark the return as Lodged following the same process as above
    (Lodgement>update>IPTCF forms>single return>Lodged).
4) create the amended tax return.

Kind Regards,
