Bank details ignored on itr in AO

So I have just discovered that several returns that I have updated the bank account details on. Whether it be changing from the clients to my trust account or clients changing banks. The ato has either just issued a cheque and completely ignored the details listed on the return. Or it has been paid to my trust account, so like it was fine the previous year.

What do I do?

How do I stop this from happening?

Re: Bank details ignored on itr in AO

Hello @AKTAX

Thanks for you question regarding the updated bank account details being ignored by the ATO.

The first thing I would suggest you check, is that the details are correct on the relevant tax returns - if the details are not valid, the ATO will make an attempt and when it fails try another option (whether your trust account, or a bank cheque).

If the details are correct in the return, I would suggest speaking to the ATO, and confirming which bank details were received, and whether there was an issue with the bank details. If the details were correct in the return, they would be sent correctly to the ATO, so its a matter of working out where the process failed.
