Issue Hiding TFN when Sharing Capital Gain in Tax Return

Hi All,

There should be a level of certainty for the users of Acountants Enterprise wanting to hide TFNs on a Tax Return (due to the new privacy regulations in regards to TFNs) ALL TFNs should be hidden. There currently is a 'Hide TFN' Button, If we select this, the expectation is that all TFNs should be hidden. This is not the case.

We followed the suggested 'solution' to hide TFNs and found that it did not fix the problem.

We have found that when sharing a capital gain (for example between a husband and wife who sold a jointly owned share in a company listed on the ASX), in the 'additional capital gains workseet' attatched to the Tax Return, when printed, the spouse's TFN is visable.

It is ridiculous that a 'Hide TFN' function doesnt actually do what it is designed to do. Has anyone got a solution?or had the same issue?

Re: Issue Hiding TFN when Sharing Capital Gain in Tax Return

Hello @McBainMcCartin

Thanks for your suggestion!

At the moment there is the option to not include the Detailed Capital Gains worksheet - if you only include the Summary Capital Gains worksheet, that does not include the Tax File Number.

I do think your suggestion is a valid one, though, and I have put your suggestion through to our team as an enhancement request. Hopefully, you'll see this change in one of our software updates.
