Revise a BAS that was created and lodged through the old system

How do we do a revision of a BAS that was created and lodged in the old system of MYOB portal?

Do we have to do this in the old system?

Or can it be done somehow in the new system?

Re: Revise a BAS that was created and lodged through the old system

Hi @Carr-Barnett-AS

Sorry to hear that is the case.

Just speaking with our Practice Solutions team they have indicated that MYOB Practice Online doesn’t have a revise/amend a form option and thus revisions cannot be created or lodged online.

Though our Desktop AO/AE Tax software allows for the creation of a revised BAS manually through the Tax Returns>>Create Activity Statement – Revision option. Alternatively, this can be actioned using the ATO Tax Agent Portal.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Revise a BAS that was created and lodged through the old system

Hi Steven

This is correct which is a big problem.

It is not ideal to have documents scattered in different places and different ways for lodgement and processing and filing.

This needs to be addressed by MYOB

Re: Revise a BAS that was created and lodged through the old system

Hi Steven, Can you then address WHY it was left out off the updated "NEW" system?

In the "old" online portal you were able to REVISE an activity statement quite effectively.

Why would the "NEW" system miss out an important aspect ? you have bascially reduced the functionality of the software?

I agree with the original poster, this needs to be addressed ASAP

Re: Revise a BAS that was created and lodged through the old system

Hi @Carr-Barnett-AS and @Natalie-Lane-22 ,

Sorry to hear you haven't had a great experience with the online portal.

Allow me to explain the difference between the new and old online portal.
With the old online portal, revisions were allowed to be made due to activity statements not prefilling directly from the ATO. They had to be created and entered manually.
With the new online portal, a direct link has been created to the ATO's server, meaning you are able to prefill forms automatically. This data includes the figures the ATO are expecting, as well as any activity statements that are outstanding. Unfortunately in this case, once an activity statement has been lodged, the ATO no longer requires it to be lodged (or relodged), which is why revisions are currently not available.

We do understand that having the option to revise is an important feature to have. We are working currently closely with the ATO to include this feature in future releases for MYOB portal.

For the time being, as what @Steven_M mentioned, any revised activity statment will need to be created and lodged through the desktop software.

Regards,
