AO General Ledger - Unable to rollover file - says 'Rebuilding Current Year Balances'

Hi There

Trying to roll forward a client file to 2015 and am being given the following error

Rebuilding Current Year Balances

One of more or the required databases culd not be opened exclusively.  This is probably because it is in use by another option, program or user.

The End of Year process cannot proceed unless thefiles are used exclusively.

Please can you help

Re: AO General Ledger - Unable to rollover file - says 'Rebuilding Current Year Balances'

Hi @Jules01,

Thank you for your post.

To resolve this error and allow you to roll forward to a 2015 AO General Ledger, please close out of AO Classic and go to back into the ledger again.

Let me know how you go Smiley Happy

Cheers,

Linda

Re: AO General Ledger - Unable to rollover file - says 'Rebuilding Current Year Balances'

Hi Linda

I've closed out of AO General Ledger and gone back in and unfortunately, the same error message is happening and I am not able to roll forward the file.

Re: AO General Ledger - Unable to rollover file - says 'Rebuilding Current Year Balances'

Hi @Jules01,

Ok, let's try the following:

  1. Reindex the ledger: File > Housekeeping > Reindexed ledger indexes.
If you continue to experience the error, refer to the next step.

  2. Restart the computer.
If you continue to experience the error, refer to the next step.

  3. Try rolling over the ledger from another computer.
If you continue to experience the error, refer to the next step.

  4. Log on the machine as an Administrator and try the rollover.

If the above suggestions do not resolve the error, I will need to investigate further.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers,

Linda
