Cannot rollover 2014 and create a 2015 Tax Return - CLIENT CODE

Hello,

Had an issue today when trying to create a 2015 Tax Return for a Client.

When accepting to rollover the 2014 return, following takes place:

Capture3.JPG

I do not believe this has happened before with any of our clients. The rollover process and creation of a new tax return completes without a hitch. I have tried deleting the 2015 return that is created from this as the 2015 return does not open, only says that it cannot create another return as there is already one in exsistance.

Once deleted, the 2015 return creation process loops back to the start of the images.

Is it possible that I need to find a data file stored on the computer and delete that aswell or is it an issue with the 2014 return? As this return has been lodged already through ELS, I do not wish to delete or mess around with that file.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

James

Hi @JPatonSSA

Thanks for your post, and welcome to the MYOB Community Forum - we hope you find it a valuable resource!

Sorry to hear you are having problems rolling over a return - can be a pesky problem, especially when you are in a hurry!

But luckily, its an easy fix.

Please refer to KB 37402 : Error: "No code entered" when attempting to open/create a current year return

That should resolve the issues with this return, and allow it to roll over correctly.

However, please ensure that you are using Tax 2015.0b or later - this should resolve your issue, without having to complete the steps in the KB.

cheers,

Re: Cannot rollover 2014 and create a 2015 Tax Return - CLIENT CODE

Hi @MattN,

Thanks for your quick response.

Will opening the system release application cause any interruption to the firm?

Just don't want to end up breaking something if I go ahead,

Thanks,
James

Hi @JPatonSSA

Just wanted to let you know that opening the Sytem Release application will not disrupt anyone else.

Hope this information helps.

Cheers,

Esther
