Migration:- Tax upgrade did not complete successfully

Good Morning,

I am the tech reinstalling MYOB AO / Migrating on behalf of Cook Tax.

I am following this guide;
  Article ID: 34955

  URL: http://help.myob.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=24578279&searchfacet=knowledgeBaseSmiley TongueracticeSolu...

I am up to Step 7. Repair installation.

However,
The repair failed at the TAX UPGRADE component.
I spoke to MYOB Support/Tax AU Support and they had no idea and will be speaking to a team leader who will speak to another support personal who will call me back (but history so far has proven that no one ever calls back)

The error log is this:
[2018-11-12T11:43:24] 15260 [Error] MYOB Tax Plugin Error retrieving settings: Required attribute 'sbrAgentActivityStatementLodgmentReportUrl' not found. (C:\MYOBAO\AOSQL\Central\Deploy\Tax.config line 50)

[2018-11-12T11:43:25] 15260 [Error] MYOB Tax Plugin Required attribute 'sbrAgentActivityStatementLodgmentReportUrl' not found. (C:\MYOBAO\AOSQL\Central\Deploy\Tax.config line 50)
System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException
Required attribute 'sbrAgentActivityStatementLodgmentReportUrl' not found. (C:\MYOBAO\AOSQL\Central\Deploy\Tax.config line 50)

I just need to know how to fix this part so I can complete this migration.

FYI: We are on attempt number 4 with this migration. Every single migration brings a new error a new issue with no resolution yet. But, this is the most promising migration so far with this being the only issue, we get over this and it's all solved 100%.

Please help?

Thank you,

 Tech-Xcellent

Re: Migration:- Tax upgrade did not complete successfully

Hi Tech-Xcellent,

If you edit the Tax.config file in the location mentioned, scroll down to the XML Section of

<!-- SBR Security Section -->

Here is an excert of that section from a working SBR installation of MYOB AO, it would appear your are missing the XML tag sbrAgentActivityStatementLodgmentReportUrl. Alternatively, you could try copying the Tax.config file from the working installation you are migrating from.

<!-- SBR Security Section -->
<sbrSecurity sbrBaseUrl="https://agencyapi.myob.com"
devKey="84pnbr76nw7am8ubw6e7z44s"
sbrSoftwareIdResourceUrl = "sbr/sid"
sbrCheckAusKeyResourceUrl = "sbr/ato/els"
sbrSendReturnWrappedResourceUrl = "sbr/ato/els/wrapped/{0}/P"
sbrGetStatusByResourceIdUrl = "sbr/ato/els/{0}"
sbrGetStatusByWrappedResourceIdUrl = "sbr/ato/els/wrapped/{0}"
elsSoftwareId="194616"
sbrAgentActivityStatementLodgmentReportUrl = "sbr/ato/aslrpt"
sbrAgentElectronicFundsTransferReportUrl ="sbr/ato/unknown"
sbrAgentIncomeTaxClientReportUrl ="sbr/ato/itcrpt"
sbrAgentLodgmentPerformanceReportUrl ="sbr/ato/itlprpt"
sbrSendActivityStatementLodgmentReportUrl = "sbr/ato/aslrpt"
sbrGetActivityStatementLodgmentReportByResourceIdUrl = "sbr/ato/aslrpt/{0}"
sbrPostActivityStatementPrefillUrl = "sbr/ato/as"
sbrGetActivityStatementPrefillUrl = "sbr/ato/as/{0}"
sbrPostPrefillUrl = "sbr/ato/piitr/{0}"
sbrGetPrefillUrl = "sbr/ato/piitr/{0}/{1}"
tracing="off"
/>

Please report back how you go.

Cheers.

Re: Migration:- Tax upgrade did not complete successfully

Good Afternoon,

Thank you, I did as suggested, fixed up the tax.config file. Repeated step 7 in the migration article, yet it failed on Tax again, except I cannot locate any errors log this time.

I go here to fetch the error logs: C:\Users\cookt\AppData\Roaming\MYOB\ClientFramework

But there's no new error codes or log's being added or update. Last entry is for user login error (username/password no longer being accepted, but I am not finished with the setup either << ignoring for the moment).

Any ideas on what to do to resolve this Tax upgrade issue?

Re: Migration:- Tax upgrade did not complete successfully

Hi @CookTaxServices

Log files related to errors encountered during an install can be found in the following location :

"C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\MYOBACCT\INSTALL\MYOBACCT Server Installation Detailed Log.txt"

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the file, click your cursor there, then use the Search function in your text editor to search upwards (from the cursor) for the word "error".  From there, you might be able to indentify the cause of the error.  You might need to search multiple times to find which errors are causing the issue.

Each install starts a new section in this log - with a line of asterisks - so you can also use the above technique to search upward from the bottom of the file, and look for "*****************" to find the start of the last install attempt - and then you can scroll through to see the steps and when an error is encountered.

Note that troubleshooting a failed migration via the Forum or telephone support can be exceptionally difficult - because of the amount of work the installer performs when migrating existing data.  The log above may point you in the right direction - however you can always reach out to your client manager to organise one of our services team to perform the migration for you.

Re: Migration:- Tax upgrade did not complete successfully

Exit function: WriteInstallStatusToLog

Enter function: CheckCriticalComponentsInstallStatusEx
  SQL Tax Transport failed.
  Write Install_Status.ini  CRITICAL_COMPONENTS_FAILED= TRUE
  Write Install_Status.ini  CRITICAL_FAIL_TEXT= There were some errors during install:<n> - Tax upgrade did not complete successfully<n>Please contact MYOB Support.<n><n>Click Finish to exit the wizard.
  Displaying message: There were some errors during install:
 - Tax upgrade did not complete successfully
Please contact MYOB Support.
Exit function: CheckCriticalComponentsInstallStatus

Exit function: CheckCriticalComponentsInstallStatusEx

Tax Upgrade error's seem to be the final error outstanding.

Suggestions?

Re: Migration:- Tax upgrade did not complete successfully

Hi,

Just to confirm, you are using MYOB_AO_2018.0_AU installation media, not the 2018.0a update media? The update media doesn't have all the accompanying software deployment files. I believe you would need to install 2018.0 full install, then update to 2018.0a.

Can you please go into Control Panel and check there is the System Release DAL (32-bit) item. Open it up, check the configuration tab and the SQL server to host database is: <SERVER NAME>\MYOBACCT also check the Status tab is Running.

If there is no System Release DAL, you can install it from:

<MYOB AO Installation Media>\Software\SRDAL\SRDAL.exe

The SR DAL is the translation service that runs on the server to translate between Tax's native DB language (Cheetah) and the SQL database. It is required for the software to be able to actually talk to the SQL database.

Cheers.

Re: Migration:- Tax upgrade did not complete successfully

Afternoon Stewart,

I am using the full install

Yes SR_DALL is on, configured correctly and running

The error that is generated seems to be focused inside the DB itself in SQL. This is the error when running debug and it matches everything else:-

SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO

Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Line 22
Invalid column name 'DS6TC863'.
Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Line 23
Invalid column name 'DS6TC963'.
Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Line 24
Invalid column name 'DS6TW831'.
Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Line 25
Invalid column name 'DS6TW931'.

Any thoughts? I am lost on this for now...

Let me know,

Thank you,

Re: Migration:- Tax upgrade did not complete successfully

Ok,

Did you restore the SQL databases from the source server, or did you use the Migration through the installation wizard?

A couple of things to check:

TCP is enabled on the SQL instance and you have restarted the MSSQL Server service.

Run the following SQL queries against the MASTER database to adjust the security on the AODB1 and AOTAX1 databases:

ALTER DATABASE AODB1 SET TRUSTWORTHY ON

ALTER DATABASE AOTAX1 SET TRUSTWORTHY ON

Unfortunately a migration is a rather complex job which can be done many ways. We don't actually follow the MYOB process, as it doesn't bring across MAS and AST legers. MAS ledgers can be rebuilt, but not AST, which have to be added in manually. This may, or may not, have an impact on your site.

Unfortunately you may be at the point where you need to engage support, but happy to try a few more things Smiley Happy
