'Return Not Necessary' or 'Client Update (CU) Form' lodged but client still appears on the 'Not Lodged' List in reports

If a return is not necessary & we lodge a 'Client Update (CU) Form' the client still appears on the 'Not Lodged' List in reports.

How do we mark the client to show we have dealt with the return for that year?

Many thanks,

Suz

Re: 'Return Not Necessary' or 'Client Update (CU) Form' lodged but client still appears on the 'Not Lodged' List in reports

Hi @SuzieQ22,

Thank you for your query.  Great question!

The reason why the client is still showing on the "Not Lodged" report (even though you have lodged a CU form) is because the Tax Return status is still displayed as In Progress.

To remove this client from the Not Lodged report, you will need to update the Return Required status to "Not this year".  This is located in the Tax Return Properties window under the PAYG/Lodge tab.

Here are some step by step instructions (if required):

  1. Open the client's Tax Return
  2. Select the Properties icon properties icon.png

  3. Select the PAYG/Lodge tab, and from the Return required drop down list and select Not this year.

    Properties window.png
  4. Click OK to save the changes.

The client should no longer appear in the Not Lodged report.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Linda

That is wonderful, thank-you, that did work.

Just want to clarify that if we have submitted the an actual 2013 return in the old AO it is ok to do the same process or should we handle that differently?

Thanks Suz

Hi @SuzieQ22,

If the client appears in the 2014 reports in MYOB AO when it is not required, then yes the same process applies.

Cheers,
