V20 Error - Invalid WPN

Good Morning,

 

I am doing MYOB AO 2017 tax return and received errors (see attached picture):

(1) Ref V20 Invalid WPN Goto Item 04

(2) There are amounts at item 4 but no ETP schedule completed.  Please check and correct. Goto Item 04

 

But no amount shown at item 4.

 

Unsure how to get rid of this problem.

Hi,

 

Doing a 2017 Tax Return in AO and have received the following errors - anyone know how to fix these errors?

 

1. Error V20 - Invalid WPN -The TFN has failed the algorithm check. Please input a valid TFN.

The TFN entered is correct and we have never had an issue with the TFN in the past.

 

2. There are amounts at item 4 but no etp schedule completed. Please check and correct.

No information was entered in item 4 at all, and there is no schedule to delete.

 

Unsure of how to get rid of these errors, any assistance would be great!

Thanks for the post, and welcome to the MYOB Community Forum - we hope you find it a great resource!

 

Can you confirm what version of Tax you are running?  Inside a 2017 return, go to Help > About - and it will list the version such as 2017.0a etc

 

The V20 message indicates that the TFN does not pass the TFN Algorithm check - next to the error, there should be a link to the field, or at least telling you what field is an issue. 

 

Without being able to see the return, its difficult to diagnose the exact cause - please dont post the return, or data from the return here.

 

I would suggest giving our support team a call and they can get an export of the return to test.  You can try exporting the return, then importing the return again to see if that resolves the issue - the fact that you have no ETP Schedule, but the system is treating it like you do could indicate a corrupt return.

Thanks for your post, and welcome to the MYOB Community Forum - we hope you find it a useful resource.

 

It looks like you might have a bit of a corruption in your return, where the system beleives you have an ETP Schedule.

 

The quickest way around this is to create an ETP schedule on this return, then answer either Y or N for the first question on the schedule.

 

Once you've done that, delete the schedule - and you should be able to validate successfully.
