We are trying to claim JobKeeper for January 2021 however the ATO has an inelegible employee in the list. This employee finished with the company in December 2020. We notified the ATO via STP of their final date. We also advised the final fortnight via STP. However, the ATO list will not acknowledge the change. We have tried a number of different fortnights, and then corrected them following instructions from the MYOB website and forum. Nothing works. What can we do so that we can claim for the eligible employees? The ATO advises that the change has to be made through STP. Interestingly, the ATO list also includes two former employees who have never been included in JobKeeper!

Hi @Jacqui2
Thanks for your post. So that I can assist with this can you please provide a screenshot of the Allowances section of the Summary of payments report for that employee. Can you also tell me what their final fortnight is. You can find the Summary of payments report in the Payroll reporting centre>>EOFY finalisation tab>>click on the ellipsis (...) button for that employee and select Download.
Cheers,
Tracey

$0.00
Allowance - Other (JOBKEEPER-START-FN21)
$0.00
Allowance - Other (JOBKEEPER-FINISH-FN20)
$0.00
Allowance - Other (JK-TIER2)
$0.00
Allowance - Other (JOBKEEPER-FINISH-FN21)

Thanks!

Hi @Jacqui2
Based on that information you shouldn't be having any problems as the ATO take the earliest unmatched fortnight, which appears to FINISH-FN20. This is from the ATO website:
Incorrect finish FN (later) – if a later finish fortnight is incorrectly reported, report an additional earlier finish fortnight. We will assume the earliest finish fortnight is relevant where no unmatched start fortnight is reported, for example, reported 'JOBKEEPER-FINISH-FN06' but should have been 'JOBKEEPER-START-FN05'.
According to the above, FINISH-FN22 would be ignored and they will assume FINISH-FN20 is the correct finish fortnight. FN14 and FN21 have both start and finish notifications so have been cancelled out.
The information in that Summary of payments reports is what has been sent to the ATO so I'd ring them and ask what notification you need to send through STP.
Please let me know how you go with this.

Hi Tracey
I rang the ATO and explained the problem. As it was past the end of the month, they processed the change manually. In conclusion, MYOB online helped me correct my mistake, however no idea as to why STP and the ATO were not talking with each other. Thanks for your help with this - there may be no answer but at least our list was corrected!
With regards,
Jacqui
