now that we can apply for Jobkeeper there is a section from the Gov advice stating the below - will this be set up for us via payroll ? thanks

I would like to know the answer to this question as well.
We are running MYOB AccountEdge Pro on a Mac.
There is no update necessary to the AccountRight software to be able to participate in the JobKeeper scheme.
You wil need to add a new income account in your chart of accounts to post the subsidy that the business receives from the government and you will need to add two new allowances to the payroll wages categories.

the quesrtion for me is, if we follow and complete the myob instructons, does that mean that the payroll software has been updated with JobKeeper functionaility? Or is there another step that the ATO requires for the 'functionality' to kick in?

As part of the JobKeeper payment you must 'Identify and maintain your eligible employees'. The ATO states that you can do this 'Directly into your STP enabled payroll software if it is updated with JobKeeper functionality'.
Does MYOB STP have this functionality? If so, how do we confirm that an employee is eligible for JobKeeper? Is it as simple as checking a box? Or does this happen automatically when the payroll categories are setup an used?
If not, is a software update coming soon?

The current version of MYOB Essentials and AccountRight are STP compatible and therefore able submit JobKeeper data.
Please ensure that you follow the notes so that the ATO are correctly notified who your eligible employees are and when their Jobkeep payments are to start.
