Re: will payroll software be updated with JobKeeper functionality?

Hi, I pay weekly and as such did the first two weeks before creating this new payroll category, so following on from your advice $0 pay, can I do my third week pay with the addition of :

$0.01 JOBKEEPER-START-FN01

-$0.01 PAYG Withholding

rather than an extra $0 pay run?

thanks

Re: will payroll software be updated with JobKeeper functionality?

Hi @Akukaet

Let me just confirm I understand your question correctly.

You have already paid your employees on the 6th April but just paid them their regular pay for that period without including the Start code.

Did all your employee receive a minimum of $1,500 gross pay?

After you have setup the JOBKEEPER-TOPUP and JOBKEEPER-START-FN01 allowances in your Wages categories and run your next pay run, ensure that in the payrun you include $0.01 in the START-FN01 allowance for all your eligible employees.

As your next pay run will be the second fortnight in April, you should also ensure that all your employees have been paid a minimum of $1,500 gross for this pay and if any are less, you should top up their pay to $1,500 by adding the necessary amount to their JOBKEEPER-TOPUP allowance.

Hope this helps,

AlanT

Re: will payroll software be updated with JobKeeper functionality?

I hve done the same (fortnighly) also i have set up both JOBKEEPER-START-FNxx and JOBKEEPER-TOPUP neither will let me save to the emplyee's.

Also with JOBKEEPER-START-FNxx  as i have already made teh first forghtnight payment prior to set up what one do i sue 01 or 02 and does this mean i wont be able to claim the first 2 weeks ? as STP already went through?

FNIf your pay date falls withinThe pay item Name must be this

0130/03/2020 - 12/04/2020JOBKEEPER-START-FN01
0213/04/2020 - 26/04/2020

Re: will payroll software be updated with JobKeeper functionality?

Hi @jason_drivas

You still use the JOBKEEPER-START-FN01 for all your eligible employees who have been paid a minimum of $3,000 by the 26th April.

Re: will payroll software be updated with JobKeeper functionality?

Jason, I am just a user, but I am in same boat.  But from the FAQ on the MYOB instructions and based also on Alan's reply, as long as you use the   FN01 category on your next pay run it will still trigger the start date as the first fortnight (thats assuming you did pay your eligible employees at least the minimum of $1500 for that fortnight you already did.  ATO website says you have till 30 April to pay the $3000 for those first two fortnights)

If you needed to do a TOPUP pay for that pay run you already did, then hopefully Alan will give advice. You might be able to do a separate pay run for the topup

Anyway, I am just a user....

$0.01 JOBKEEPER-START-FN01

-$0.01 PAYG Withholding

Re: will payroll software be updated with JobKeeper functionality?

Hi Jason,

STP only sends YTD figures to the ATO, so if the START code is sent in pay run one or two it doesn't matter for April.

The ATO have these special rules for April only.
