sick pay with government subsidy

Hi. Just making sure I will be doing the right thing. Had a worker take 3 days sick leave last week. Would I be right to use the subsidy to pay for the 2 days they worked and sick pay for the 3 days and either use the left over government subsidy for their wages next week or use for another employee. My understanding if I use all the government subsidy for their pay this week I can't correctly record the sick pay as it won't take the days out of his sick pay because the subsidy is put in as an allowance

Re: sick pay with government subsidy

Hi @Brenda5

The subsidy can cover the cost of sick leave - however you are correct, you need to process sick leave to keep your sick leave balance correct -you could make a note of the payslip that this is covered by Covid.
