Rolling over year to 2019

We are using V19.14 and we would like to roll forward the period. So we can generate reports. P&L, Balance Sheet etc. Now the next year in MYOB is FY 2018. So i guess it should be moved to FY2019. But i need be able to go back periods if required as well. And our extral accoutnats needs to finish off the accounts for earlier periods too.

Can someone advise how the period can be rolled forward?

Thanks

Re: Rolling over year to 2019

Hi @RikFH

To roll the period forward, go to File > Start a New Year > Start a New Financial Year.

A few points:

  • ensure you do a backup first
  • do not run over a network, copy file to local computer
  • if you want to keep prior year transactions, ensure you select Keep Closed Transactions from Prior Year on appropriate screen, otherwise they will be purged.
  • If your current FY (see Setup > Company Information) is 2017, do not roll to 2018 until your accountant has given you the all clear, that is all transactions including tax adjustments for the 2017 financial year have been processed.
  • Once the year is rolled to 2018 you cannot go back, you cannot enter/edit transactions before the 2018 FY
  • Once the current FY is 2018, you will be able to generate financial statements for 2019 FY

Regards

Gavin
