EOFY STP showing $0 for one Employee

Upon checking STP and Payroll reports for reconciliation - I noticed one employee was showing a negative pay amount - therefore  I ammended the pay history amounts in his employee card.  The payroll acivity report shows the correct amount paid - $2295.56 and the Payroll register shows $0, as does the EOFY STP.

This employee only had 3 pays so the $2295.56 is the correct amount.   I have posted a $0 payrun and updated event.   The business owner posts the pays so I am not sure how there was a negative amount to start with.

Please help.

Re: EOFY STP showing $0 for one Employee

Hi @Suzie721

Thank you for your post and welcome to the MYOB Community Forum.

The Payroll Activity Reports get data from pay runs recorded while the Payroll Register Reports get data from pay history.

If the reports don't match then run them quarter by quarter and month by month to determine whether it was only the YTD pay history that was manually edited or individual monthly/quarterly figures were edited resulting in a different YTD. Assuming the activity report figures are correct, please update the pay history numbers to match that. Once updated, you can record a $0 pay and send that to STP (send an updated event if you are using STP 2), so ATO's YTD data is also updated.

Please feel free to post again. I'm happy to assist further.

Re: EOFY STP showing $0 for one Employee

Hi Sean

Thank you for the reply and sorry for my late response.  I have only just got back to this job.

I have had a bit of a play around with the employee showing $0 in the YTD verification report.  Now instead of showing $0 - it is showing exactly double the amount of wages, tax and super.

The pay history does not show any figures at all including the YTD page.  Previously it had figures in January that were correct.

I have cleared by browsing history

I have sent an updated event.

Nothing seems to be working for me.  The employee in question only had 3 pay over January/February 2023 so it is really easy to pin point but not so easy to balance?

Please help!

Thanks again

Suzanne

Re: EOFY STP showing $0 for one Employee

Hi @Suzie721

Thanks for updating us about this.

As mentioned by Sean, The Payroll Activity Reports get data from pay runs recorded while the Payroll Register Reports get data from pay history. Kindly run these two reports. If you see that the Payroll Activity Report is correct and the Payroll Register is not, you can then go to the employee card file > Pay history and manually enter the correct figures for each Payroll Category. Once done, please process a $0 pay run to update these figures then check again the Payroll Activity and Register Reports.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Doreen
