Taxable Payments Annual Report - submission to ATO

Hello again - it appears that your taxable payments annual report and the file to go to the ATO are both having problems - I cannot print or save the report as a pdf file which is mega-frustrating but then I am also unable to create the file for submission to the ATO.

I can see that people have been reporting this for quite a while now and also that MYOB say that there is a fix for this - sadly, the participants in the community chat have also reported that the fix hasn't worked, but you have closed the thread to further input.

I have no idea how everyone else feels but I am very very disappointed that these problems recur, are not fixed and in the meantime many, many customers of MYOB are inconvienced with programs and reports that should work but do not, despite these issues having been reported constantly.

Surely the idea of a community forum would fundamentally be to gain input and insight from the MYOB users and to use this information to improve the program?

Re: Taxable Payments Annual Report - submission to ATO

I don;t know whether to waste any more time trying all of these 'fixes' that may or may not work or just come back in another week and see if anything has been sorted. I have been backwards and forwards deleting pays and resubmitting. The ATO penalty for late lodgment and the ire of the employees is surely less than the stress of contantly trying all of these 'solutions'

Hi @AnnetteW

Thanks for your post. We are aware that some users are experiencing issues when trying to generate the TPAR report and the payments file. Our developers are investigating this and understand the importance of getting it resolved as soon as possible.

We do apologise for the inconvenience and frustrations caused by this.

Hi @Ruth5

Can you please clarify if you are having issues with the TPAR or the EOFY finalisation in the Payroll Reporting Centre? If you are having problems with the EOFY finalisation, these posts may help:

If you continue to have problems please do let us know so that we can help.

Re: Taxable Payments Annual Report - submission to ATO

Tracy - thank you - I do appreciate your response and I would like to mention that this was a problem 12 months ago when I was still working in version 19.whatever and at that time I believe I received the same sort of response.

So, this year, I fervently hope that the developers at MYOB actually manage to overcome this problem for the benefit of all of your very patient users.

If/when it is rectified, how do you (meaning MYOB of course) let the users know that this issue has been resolved? I feel that, say, just posting this on the Community Forum is probably insufficient and that users should be contacted via email - after all MYOB does have all of our contact details. Smiley Happy

Re: Taxable Payments Annual Report - submission to ATO

We are in the same situation.  Bearing in mind we are supposed to submit soon I cant seem to find any update.  We are a large Consultant payrolling Company and the ATO will be chasing me as soon as the deadline approaches.

Have you had any update on the fix and when it will be available?

Re: Taxable Payments Annual Report - submission to ATO

Hi @Robyron, @AnnetteW, @Angiesh01, & @Ruth5

I have some good news for this, we found out what was causing the bug and have a fix coming in 2020.3 which is coming soon.

I'm was assigned to fix this bug and was able to get the report to generate over 50 pages within 30 seconds for files larger than 3GB with the data being accurate each time we tested it. This release is currently with some dedicated testers to do deeper testing and make sure it's definitely ready for release.

When will it come out?:

I can't commit to an exact date/range as I'm not involved in the overall release plan but I do know that there is urgency to release this before the August 28 Deadline.

So what happened?:

Without getting too deep into the technical detail, it looks like this report has not been touched for a few years and 2020.2's database changes seem to change the way certain queries behave, with this query not following the conventions of the new ORM. It was fixed by making sure that we are following the new conventions and while we were at it we also made some optimisations to make it even faster.

How to get notified of the new release?:

Each release should send out an email to those that enabled email-comms with MYOB, but there is also the AccountRight Blog on the Forum that you can subscribe to for when the 2020.3 announcement post comes up you can get an email notification.

I do apologise for the broken report, especially an important one like this, if you have any comments you'd like to make on this feel free to send me a Private Message on this Forum and I'll make sure to bring these up in our post-release meetings for improvement.

You can send me a Private Message by clicking my username then clicking Send Message on the next page.

As a note, I might not be able to respond to each message I get but I do keep each email I get.

Cheers,
Hayden

Re: Taxable Payments Annual Report - submission to ATO

I reported this to MYOB first week of July.  It is now the end of the 1st week of August.  It needs to be sorted now ! Not on the 28th August.
