end of payroll year

Hi Team,

I have an issues regarding the end of payroll year change.

Basically every end of payroll year sick leave doesnt carry over to next year, however I can see in my employees details all the left sick leaves are carrying over to this year. I tried to deselect the carry over options but it would not let me to do so.

What are the other ways to fix it.

Please help

Thanks in advance

Re: end of payroll year

Under Fair Work Australia, personal leave (which includes Sick & Carer Leave), this entitlement continues to accrue. That is, any unused sick leave carries forward to the next year. However, generally is not paid on termination. Paid sick & carer's leave - Fair Work Ombudsman

It is possible for the ordinary rules to be varied, but this requires agreement from both the employee and employer. It will be part of their employment contract, EBA or Award.

If you have determined that Sick Leave does not carry forward, then in MYOB under the pay category Sick Leave Accrual, there is a tick box to carry over any remaining entitlement. Once selected, this cannot be changed. If leave is not carried forward (per agreement) you will need to create a new sick leave entitlement pay category with the Payroll Year End box unticked. Link relevant emplyees to this pay category. Under Linked Wages Category, add the Sick Pay

The original Sick Leave pay category will need to be changed so that say 0 hours accrue per pay period. Ensure that Pay Advise box is unticked, so that the balance does not appear on the pay slips. Under Linked Wages Category, remove the Sick Pay
