Re: Auto Invoice Number using API to import

Hi @appstabdev, in v19 and its predecessors, recording an invoice with a suffix did not affect MYOB's autonumbering. The current program may behave the same.

Auto Invoice Number using API to import

We are importing invoices through the API which have a different prefix and sequential number to the invoices created directly in MYOB.  However after insertng an invoice via the API, the auto number in MYOB now takes the number from the last API import, rather than continue on its own sequence.

This creates major problems as the next invoice from API will now have the same number as the next one created in MYOB.  Rather MYOb should keep its own numbering sequence independent of the API.  The API invoices also have a different prefix  eg'PT' to assist with identifying them and keeping them seperate from MYOB invoices however MYOB insists on taking the last number used.

It is preferable that invoices imported into MYOB do not impact the sequence of invoices created via MYOB - ie they are independent systems so need to be able to create own numbers.  Xero does this without a problem and prevents API importinga number already in use as well.

Will this be fixed, or is there a work around as it is a major flaw in the system when trying to integrate MYOb with thirdpary systems like Job management and Mobile sales that MUST be able to create and define their own invoice numbers wihtout impacting on MYOB generated invoices.
