Re: Sandbox Configuration for existing Product

Sorry, not sure if I'm using the correct MYOB terms here. We need to generate invoice pdfs that currently generate through software and, with renderAsPDF feature as described in http://developer.myob.com/api/accountright/v2/sale/invoice/render_as_pdf/ hopefully this is achievable.

Re: Sandbox Configuration for existing Product

Hi there

You can use the MYOB API (details at http://developler.myob.com) to interact with the raw data from the accounting platform. At this stage however we do not have any reporting endpoints, so if you are looking for specific reports, I'm sorry these aren't in the API yet

Re: Sandbox Configuration for existing Product

Thanks @KeranM, this gives me a detailed idea about the MYOB developer dash board.
We are in a process of integrating an existing MYOB environment with another application. To the point, need to test lots of existing components like custom fields, report templates, etc. via api. Do we need to manually setup these customization in the granted sandbox company file for dev testing? Basically we need to test the report generation with number of templates that they have created with MYOB software.

Re: Sandbox Configuration for existing Product

Hi there

Okay so the way it works is this

1) You register for API Access http://developer.myob.com/api/accountright/api-overview/getting-started/ - you will setup an API Key for your application

2) you build an OAUTH integration to allow a user to login using their my.myob credentials

3) these credentials then allow your solution to have access to any files associated with that users account

Now, as a developer you also have a my.myob account. This is where you register your API keys, but it's also a fully valid MYOB account. We will share sandbox files with you to this account. So as the developer you can log into your own app (via OAUTH) and have access to any files, including sandbox files that are shared with your account.

Like wise when a client starts using your solution, they connect using OAUTH and now your application can see all the files they have access too.

This is how you can have a product in production (with clients using it) and login as yourself and test with sandbox files.

hope that helps

Sandbox Configuration for existing Product

Can anyone kindly explain me,

  • Say I have MYOB API access account
  • I'm already using a MYOB product and trying to add that into my product list so that I have API access for that
  • In this case does MYOB create a sandbox (with custom fields and other configurations) for me?

If not, I'm curious how I can do test the integration with already running production instance.
