Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

Hi @SMM

My understanding is that there will be a tax table update made available this year for AccountEdge users. Although a release update has not been announced, I would anticipate this update being available towards the end of the current payroll year

Regards,
Neil

Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

So on an online Forum last night, someone said that Accountright will take over AccountEdge ?

Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

@PeterPanGlass haven't heard anything about that. I was told by MYOB that they are building on MYOB Essentials for AE clients.

They will provide tax tables for existing AE clients this year.

Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

They said MYOB about to put Accountright as a web browser based version , meaning accessible without software?

Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

So MYOB will start helping to Migrate AccountEdge Pro again? as it stopped that service in 2019....

Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

Yes apparently we will get assistance to migrate to MYOB Essentials once is been fully developed to add some features we currently have in AE.

In the meantime we will get new tax tables to work under latest MYOB under Mojave.

Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

So I have been looking at the Cloud based MYOB with payroll, but it has to be done after the EOY apparently and I then have to start from scratch with everything. So would you suggest to hang in and hope ?

Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

that's what I'm doing, there's enough going on in small business right now without this! If you don't need to upgrade to Mojave right now than might be best to wait.

Re: Account Edge and the future for Mac users

Steven,

I have a couple of questions regarding Account Edge.

1. If I do upgrade to Catalina will Account Edge still be suitable as a read only Version, if not I am guessing that even when I change to a new accounting program I will still not be able to upgrade to Catalina for quite some time because I will need to reference back to 2019/20 data in MYOB.

2. Once I stop paying my monthly MYOB subscription am I still able to use AccountEdge as a read only file?

It's a shame that you didn't get moving with making Essentials with all of the same features as AE, it would have made this entire transition much easier. After 20 years with MYOB I am now forced to go to Xero.
