AccountEdge v17.5 to v18

When trying to upgrade my MYOB file I am getting the error message "An error occurred while creating the AccountEdge Pro company file." I am able to open the sample company so it appears the software has installed ok.

 

I am running OS 10.13.6

Hi @KylieFBH 

 

If your getting an error like that, I’d start by checking the filename of the company file that your trying to create. As Macs can sometimes have issues with longer file names, I’d ensure that the file name is as small as possible.

 

So for example instead of calling the file “my amazing company fy ends June 2019.myo”, try reducing the file name to say “my file.myo”

My file name is only 7 characters long but I will try and change it to see if that works.

 

This did not work.

HI @KylieFBH 

 

The other possibility is that for some reason the location that the file is trying to be created to is not allowing the creation of that file. It might be worth trying a different location, like the desktop. Generally speaking, each User profile on the Mac will likely have rights to create files on the desktop.
