It appears that once a report has been saved, that it is simply a snap shot of the data and if you make any changes to the underlying data, you must start the whole process again from scratch. You cannot simply open the saved report and expect it to reflect the adjusted figures.
Could you please confirm these observations are correct.
Therefore, if I get part way through the process of reviewing the data and as a result of the review, find an error in the data, by correcting the data, I will need to start the report again, thus loosing all the editing that I have already done for this report.
Is this the situation?
Yes, your observation is correct. We can only construct the charts and the accompanying narrative based on the data at the time of generation. Once it is generated, it is a snapshot from that point in time. If you have made edits that you want to transfer to a newly-generated report, you can copy and paste the relevant text from the older saved version to the newly generated one.
In that case, it emphasises how much more efficient it would be to be able to pre-define each client's business structure. There may be other properties that other users would also suggest be able to be setup for each client.
Thanks for the suggestion Alan. Wehen you have a chance, if you could be as detailed as possible about what you'd like to see and how it would solve the problems you are anticipating, it would help us greatly as we look at future solutions.
