Account cannot be duplicated. Please select a different Account.

Hello, since the software upgrade late last year, my two main bank accounts no longer connect properly to bank feeds. When I try to reconnect them i get this error "

Account cannot be duplicated. Please select a different Account."

 

One account seems to still be able to allocate from a feed, but one accounts transactions are greyed out and I cannot allocate a transaction. I have contacted MYOB twice and got nowhere. Please help.

Hi @Anth

 

Thanks for your post. If a bank account has already been linked to a bank feed it cannot be linked to a new bank feed again, you would need to create a new account to link to that bank feed. However if the previous bank feed accounts stopped, I'm happy to check what has happened here in the back ground. 

 

Can you please send me a private message with the below details:

  • Serial number 
  • Your full name and email address 
  • Last 4 digits of the bank feed bank account that were originally linked against the account

 

Update: Script had to be run over company file to resolve this

The bank feeds were connected to the correct accounts before the software upgrade end of last year. The bank feeds list says they arent connected, however I cant reconnect them. They seem to be somehow still connected in the background, however, they are not functioning properly. I have tried to disconnect the bank feed and then reconnect, but this hasnt worked. I get a message saying "congratualtions you new bank feed is connected" but there is still an "awaiting bank" message next to the feed in the bank feeds list. I have also tried manually importing the transactions, however, some were able to be allocated, but still most could not be allocated. Thanks.

Hi Melisa,

 

I have similar problem with my company files as well.

 

Trying to relink the Bank feeds but MYOB keeps saying Account cannot be duplicated.

 

How do I PM you my Serial number and other info?

Are you still having an issue regarding the error message, "Account cannot be duplicated. Please select a different Account"? If yes, kindly send me a private message with the following details:
