bank reconcillation not balancing since update

Hi

As of 30/12/22 my bank balance and myob's balance were identical, i have never had a problem reconcilling the bank until the update done 1/2/23. January's calculaed closing balance showing is decemebers closing balance, january's opening blance, and now the rec is out and i have undone it, redone it and it still won't balance because of this. may be the file needs rebuilding or something? ALl the bank recs in the previous software were saved and completed. Please advise.

*further to the above, dec 22 balances perfectly, but january does not since the update i have gone through the statement three times and every single transaction is correct.

This exact thing is happening to me too, all my balances were matching before the update and now they don't. I have spent days going through my bank statements back 3 years and cannont find the where the problem is. I too have undone my reconcilliation to no benifit in finding the problem. And this is not the only problem, I have now found that the program is allocated payments to invoices that I have not received a payment for and sometimes not even the right amount. I am about to walk away from this once great program if this doesnt get fixed very soon.

Yes, and the "equity" showing on the dashboard is incorrect, not the right bank balance. Due to the january bank not reconciling properly, i imported the bank statement hoping it would resolve the issue, now i have "unallocated" transactions, i allocated a few only to find the "equity" balance changed yet again! Even though the transactions from january were already allocated in the old myob! Very very frustrating!

Correct, I did the same and now I feel I am messing up my finacials more and more. I really dont know how to move forward with this, its such a mess. My accountant is going to kill me, lol.

lol... same! now my credit card account is all out of balance too. OMFG! i'm just leaving it all for now until MYOB supply us with an answer. as of 31/12/22 everything BALANCED and was reconciled!

Indeed. It's only been 7 days and I really don't like it! The dashboard sux, you cant see your PAYG or Super or other accounts like in the old version, the bank transaction sections is appalling, bring back the old MYOB! might have to consider migrating to another package if this isn't resolved. And i know its nothing we've done, everything was perfectly fine and balanced!

Exactly the same here, mine was updated in the first week of Dec 22 and felt the same as you about all those differences between the old and new especially since the old version which worked so well. I got use to a few of the changes I didnt like but with the constant anomilies and now these calculating errors I think its time to change. Very dissapointed that MYOB has not jumped onto this straight away or at least contacted us.

My bank rec went out of balance by $35,000+ from one day to another. It was all good and reconciled, than it is waaaay out. I undone reconciliations for 2 years, but it is definitely not originating from my end. 

 

I used to love MYOB (for 20+years), but since I downgraded from AccountsRigh to Business 4 months ago, I hate evey bit of it. Not sure if AccountsRight has all these awful glitches, but what i saw so far from the Business package is nothing but DISAPPOINTING.

Agreed! Glad i only did dec 2022 and jan 2023 before i realised it was the software not me! LOL. discussing migrating with the boss now. This is really unacceptable from such a reputable company. So many users complaining about the same thing. Definitely a software issue. Not looking forward to doing the pay run this week- hopefully there will be no issues with that!

The interface is dreadful too, very confusing and hard to navigate. Normally i get excited by software upgrades, learning and navigating through the features, and i was about this too, until it happened! I suspect they will be losing users in droves if its not fixed soon.
