Create journal entry: Create account

Hi all,

Is there any works in the pipeline for the ability to set up a new account when entering journals? Currently, we have to abandon the journal, and go to the Account List, Add a new account and come back to resume our journal. 

The only way we know if an account exists is to manually write out the journal, and then check the chart of accounts to create a new account. This is inefficient for accountants as there are adjustments we need to make as we go along. 

If we have the option to create a new account from the account dropdown list, that would be great.

Hi Everyone

Users will have the option to create a new account from within the Create journal entry window (should the account not already be listed in that window).

Note: This change is available for the new MYOB Essentials platform. Existing (original) MYOB Essentials platform users will be migrated across to the new platform in due course based on the complexity of their MYOB Essentials product level. At the time of posting, migrations are already underway.
