It would be great if MYOB essentialls had a payroll giving deductione stablished, much the way ACE payroll used to.    2 of our staff used to donate to charity via a payroll deduction (before we transitioned from ACE to Eseentials), deducting 66.7% of their donation from their pay, with the IRD paying the 1/3 and essentially giving them their tax break up front rather than at the end of the tax year. We can't process payroll if an employee is paid quarterly. The only options there are for weekly, fortnightly or monthly. It would be good if we have quarterly payroll option especially if STP reporting is quarterly.    "Quarterly Payroll" ... View more

It would be really helpful if the banking would show the name of the employee on the all the matches not just the transaction number. As you can see from the below image I can't easily tell which transaction to allocate this too (the blacked out part of the narration is an employee name).  If the showing note on the "essentials transactions" part could have the employee name tacked on the end like with supplier and customer payment this would be made a lot easier!   "Payslip allocation" ... I would like to suggest that MYOB LiveAccounts be enhanced with 1. Provision of 'Leave Loading' in 'Payroll' and 2. That the 'TAB' option between ALL fields be made available - it puzzles me why such a standard option is not already there ????? So far I am getting used the this new LiveAccounts but those 2 missing options are making the job more tedious and time consuming than necessary. Surely it isn't too much to ask for 'TAB' option, and surely the 'Leave Loading' option in PAYROLL should be a  standard option. Hello MYOB team   With my business, on a weekly basis I pay more than 20 employees for their payroll within MYOB Essentials Pay centre. I find there is a lot of scrolling up and down the page involved due to the way it is designed and am wondering if the left portion of the page can be in a fixed position (employees name, number of hours which I input and annual leave) as it takes a lot longer than it should of and doesn't feel natural.   I would be very willing to help describe the issue in more detail, feel free to contact me directly.   "Pay centre with 20+ employees | MYOB Essentials"     ... Please refer to my link.   Salary Sacrifice and RESC   In the payroll employee set up users will require the standard superannuation payroll categories in the payroll set (Same as default options in AccountRight 2014.2) and for the same to be reported correctly on the payment summaries.     Can I suggest if adding a deduction, allowance or commission the user should be given the option of what G/L account it should be posted?     I have created my own work around for this however I am not confident it is robust and if it reports on the Payment Summaries correctly?   Please review prior to end of payroll year if it is not already on the list to be fixed.   Regards  BooksInTheCloud   "Superannuation set up in employee cards" ... I am setting up Essentials payroll for a client and have just discovered that it includes allowances paid to employees in Gross Earnings when calculating annual leave rates. Employers need to be aware that Essentials Payroll is incorrectly increasing the leave rate payable to employees. At the current time (July 2013) in LiveAccounts, Annual Leave must be paid at the hourly rate when taken. This makes sense for hourly rate employees. However, for staff paid well above award rates, it is common for actual hours worked not to be tracked and for salary to be paid as a fixed monthly amount. This is clumbsy (but not impossible) to do with the current system - it means that any annual leave hours paid must be deducted from the "nominal" base hours worked each month. Rounding errors then arise.   These issues would go away with a simple check box on the Employee Leave tab which read "Pay annual leave at zero hourly rate" or "Track leave on a statistical basis only" (or similar). The annual leave accrued and taken would then appear on the pay slip as per now but at a zero dollar rate. Staff for whom this option was relevant would just continue to be paid their fixed monthly salary irrespective of how much annual leave they took that month. Hi, I would love to see the addition of being able to add GST onto a contractors payment in Payroll. I've posted this in the other section as well. There really should be a place in the timesheet for breaks. IT seems like a  bit of an oversight. All the data from the timesheet is automatically entered into payroll, but you have to go in and adjust the figures anyway to take into account the break times.    "Timesheets and Breaks" ... Dear MYOB Essentials, When Selecting Super to be paid in the PAY SUPERANNUATION function, there is no total shown for the selected amounts to pay. I am trailing Live accounts for the payroll section only. When looking at the PAYG Summary report is prints a page out with figures so you can write out the PAYG Summary. When adding payroll categories (eg. Leave Loading or Night rate) it is necessary to add this to each employee separately rather than create the category and then select to which employees this relates as is the case in MYOB AccountRight Plus.  This is very time consuming and can lead to inconsistencies.  I’d love to see this changed to be in line with the AR Plus software.   "Setup Payroll Categories that apply to multiple employees" ...
