When in the report 'Job Transactions (accrual) report' there is a field that says 'Beginning Balance', however in Essentials there is no where to input this job beginning balance. It would be wonderful to have this field in the Jobs - it's already in the Reports. ... View more

I have been online to MYOB Australia about an upgrade to MYOB Essentials with Payroll and they dont have a ETA for an upgrade in New Zealand. Can someone from the NZ team advise when Essentials will be upgraded with Payroll in NZ and why it is taking so long. I have a client using essentials with payroll on the old version and we need the new version to use an API that has been set up and without the new version we can't use this. Currently in the new Direct Debit setup platform you can only set up the direct debit payment schedule for Weekly, Fortnightly and Monthly.    Most of our accounts are charged quarterly and are part of a contract so we can not change the payment schedule. In Payment options under invoice settings, the only options for payment are direct deposit or by mail. Cheques are no longer accepting by banks so the mail option is now outdated. Please include the option to include $0.00 payruns in the report.   As (multiple) payslips are more difficult to reprint now this report becomes more useful/important.   Zero payslips on the old essentials are included but those after the upgrade are not.   'Payroll advice report (after upgrade)" ... Hi,    The unpaid invoice report is useful but we often only want to print a list of overdue invoices and this is not possible. We generally have many invoices "open" but not overdue so searching through the report of all the invoices to find the 10-15 that are actually overdue is tedious and a waste of time. It would be handy if this report option could be filtered down to show specific invoices - not only just for specific clients. At present you can split a pay category across multple jobs by splitting the amount only.  We would like an option to be able to split by hours and / or % as well.  Most payroll is driven by hours worked so the risk of error is reduced if assigning hours to jobs and letting MYOB work ou the calcuation of dollars.  We would also like this option available on the desktop app (currently only available on the online version) for job spltting by payroll category.   'Payroll job code split by hours/% as well as hours" ... When a customer replies to a statement sent from the system asking for copy invoices we do not know what company / statement they are replying to and we have to email back asking who they are.  If the template had the customer card name / Card ID we could find this quickly and respond.  We send over 300 statements per month. Please revert enter employee and pay field to how it was on MYOB essentials prior to the update. Now when you choose to "enter pay" MYOB auto selects all employess so i have to unselect the ones i dont want then MYOB also auto fills payment figures for the employees which for my casual employees make zero sense! just like unselecting the employees i dont want to pay i now have to clear the auto entered pay fields MYOB suggests i pay my staff?! talk about making life harder!   "Enter pay field - don't autofill employee or payment amounts" ... We use the quantities for tracking the litres of fuel purchased per quarter for calculating the fuel tax credits in activity statements.  Would be extremely useful if we could customise the "Account Transactions" report to include Quantities and the ability to exclude transactions that were entered without quantities.   ... In accountright even with no rule attached it allows you to mark the cheque number as EFT or auto markes as EFT, in essential it auto picks up a the last cheque number unless a rule is already set+, As cheques are not really used much now and can it be changed so it gives the user the option to put a reference in rather than auto using the last cheque number and same request for payroll.   Please and thankyou   "Bankfed with auto cheque numbers back to EFT" ... For some reason the general ledger summary movement TAB has been set up to print the balance as positive or negative based on the "Type" of account rather than debit balances being positive and credit negative. We as accountants utilise this to post information to our MYOB AE Ledger and have to export to excel to adjust the number and make the total movement for the year come back to $0. It has been great to see the addition of bulk payments to MYOB Essentials, however compared to competitor products this is still a much slower process for the following reasons:   * Each supplier must be selected and paid individually  * Then you need to move to a totally different area to create the ABA file to download to the bank.   I would like to see payables set out in a "Wizard/TAB" through process similar to that of competitor products and Payroll.   My vision is that this has a TAB for awaiting approval, approved/awaiting payment and paid. This solution should have multiple selection of both multiple invoices for one supplier and multiple suppliers. Hello, my name is Laura Bernhardt and I use MYOB Essential to run my small business. I often create and duplicate invoices for a client with recurring invoices for future months, and then need to  come back into MYOB to physically click the 'Email' button to send it each month.    I would like a feature where I can schedule an email to automatically send a client this recurring monthly invoice.
