Entitlement balance carried forward

We are using the new MYOB Essentials file. On 1.7.20 when we opened the file we entered the carried forward balance for Annual Leave under Payroll/Employee/Payroll Details/Leave/Balance Adjustment for the amount of 112.77hrs. When we run the Leave Balance (Detail) report starting 01.07.20 (when file was opened) it shows the opening hours are 202.08? I know how to amend the entitlement balance but need to explain to my employee why the loss of 89.31hours from his leave entitlement (112.77-202.08=-89.31). Are you able to explain where MYOB got the 202.08 hours from and why it did not use the 112.77 hours as entered?

The same thing has happened on this employee for his Personal Leave Accrual. Carried forward balance entered 01.07.2020 as 45.38 and Leave Balance (detail) report for period beginning 01.07.20 shows opeing hours are 272.87.  This is of particular concern as employee personal leave entitlements have reduced significantly by 227.49hours (45.38-272.87=-227.49) due to opening entitlement not posting correctly. Can you please explain where MYOB got the opening 272.87 hours from and why it did not use the 45.38 hours as entered?

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Re: Entitlement balance carried forward

Hi @BusyBee3

Could you please provide screenshots of the Leave tab in the employee contact, as well as the Leave Balance (detail) report showing the report dates and entitlement balances (you can black out the employee name), so we can look into it further?

Kind regards,
Clover

Re: Entitlement balance carried forward

Hi @BusyBee3,

Thank you for providing those screenshots.

If you were to run the Leave Balance (detail) report perhaps a month earlier (1/6/20 - prior to the payroll year rolling over), what totals are showing in the report leading up to this figure (if any)? If possible could you please include the screenshot of this.

Kind regards,
Sam

Re: Entitlement balance carried forward

Hi @Sam_R

Thanks for getting back to me.

I am unable to run these reports as the file was only opened 01.07.20 - I have again attached screen shot showing this. I have attached the screenshots from when I try to run Leave balance (detail) report from 30.06.20 - the red error is to be expected as file was not open then.

Kind regards
