Hi there
Payroll reports are all sorted by First Name only. How can I change them to sort by Last Name (surname) in alphabetical order? It is very annoying as it is impossible to locate staff easily by first name for other reporting that needs to be done elsewhere.
If I can't change it can you ask MYOB IT department to fix it please (it was always sorted by surname in AccountEdge Pro desktop software)?
Thank you

If users cannot select whether payroll reports are sorted by first or last name then can you permanently set all payroll output as sorted by LAST NAME ONLY. It is time consuming to have to locate data when some reports are being sorted by:
FIRST NAME
LAST NAME
DATE EMPLOYMENT STARTED.
All reports should be sorted by LAST NAME
Thank you

Hi there
No it has not been corrected yet.
I just ran another payrun today and some reports are listing employees in the order of their start date. All reports generated throughout the payrun and after it has been completed should list all staff by LAST NAME IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER THEN BY FIRST NAME IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER IN CASE 2 OR MORE STAFF HAVE THE SAME LAST NAME.

I have just started to experience the same problem - all staff in my pay run are listed in alphabetical order of first name. Please advise a solution.
Thank-you,

Hi @MelissaV
Thank you for your post, I'd like to extend you a warm welcome to the Community Forum, I hope you find it a valuable resource.
In this regard, MYOB Essentials' Employee list is based on the employee's first name, followed by the last name. Although you can choose whether the list is sorted in ascending or descending order, you are unable to alter the sequence in which values are sorted. The first name followed by the last name is always a default.
This has been logged as an enhancement request with the team for this to be looked into. I am unable to advise if or when this will be implemented. Your patience is very much appreciated.
If you require any further assistance, please feel free to post again. Rest assured that one of the MYOB Community Forum Moderators will attend to it.
Best Regards
Cel

Cel,
I use Account Right and since about 3 weeks ago, the payroll changed to sorting people by Firstname and not their surname. This is rediculous that a change was made without advising your clients to their software.
I do not need an enhancement, I need it to go back to the same order Ive had for the past 18 years.

Hi @BringBackAE4Mac,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum.
In this regard, the newer MYOB Essentials platform is always being worked on by our product teams to ensure that we have new features and additional enhancements in-product for clients. As for this feature, this has been logged as an enhancement request with the team fort this to be looked into. We're unable to advice if when this will be implemented. As such, it's not possible to go back to the older essential platform.
Feel free to post again if you need further assistance with this.
Thanks,
Cel
