While creating pay run, Myob Business / Essential is sorting employee list by their last name, so the timesheets are recording by last name, but the reports we use to check the pays are sorted by first name.
Its difficult to enter the pays in LAST NAME ORDER, then resort the timesheets IN FIRST NAME ORDER to check the pays from the Verification Report.
Does not make any sense??
I can see this was raised in July and nothing has been done - or is there a trick to sorting??

Hi @ttransport1
I'm afraid that currently there isn't a way to change how names are sorted when entering pay runs, the list is sorted by last name only. After the pays are recorded, the payroll reports generated are sorted by first names.
If you'd like to see the ability to sort names by first name when entering pays, I'd suggest submitting it on the Idea Exchange board, the comments and votes there will help our developers to identify the trends and prioritise their work.
Kind regards,
Clover

Sorry that doesn't seem to make sense. I don't need the ability necessarily to sort, all I need is for MYOB to select a theme and run with it. Either produce all the reports in first name order or produce all the reports in surname order, particularly within the same section, that seems like a pretty simple solution, I don't think putting it on the ideas board is a good idea at all?

Please add functionality to sort in second tab of payrun entering by EITHER first or last name. We built our timesheets and payroll tables by FIRST name as that is the way MYOB was doing it. Now, without warning or any advice, you switch us to the new platform and change the way you are listing employees. So frustrating and thoughtless.

@Tegan_Rainbow @ttransport1 Sorry it took us a while to get there. You'll now find employees sorted by first name throughout MYOB Business payroll.
