Hi all
I'm having issues completing payroll reconciliations this month. The process is usually a 2 minute job and has been easy and pain free for years.
With the upgraded MYOB Essentials, everything just seems so hard that fully converting to Xero is an option I'm now genuinely considering.
I've having multiple issues but the one giving me the most grief relates to paying super.
I've processed the super payments using the new super pay function it's creating bank reconciliations.
The process has created withdrawals on the bank rec page described as "Payment PS000001". The issue is that the bank feed has also picked up the payment and now it is doubled up the withdrawal on the bank rec, putting the account out of balance by the super amount being $2,483.55.
The issue also occurs on the balance sheet - the cheque account is now negative, out by the same amount.
The payroll deductions and super payable account are also now debit balances by the same amount.
The only way I've been able to correct all of this by coding the superannuation direct debits that have come through the bank feed to the cheque account (rather than to superannuation payable as should be the case).
Can someone please assist me with this? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @nayhamo
Thanks for your post. When you process a Pay super payment the payment transaction is automatically recorded and will have a reference no starting with PS. This payment transaction needs to be matched with the bank feed transaction in the Bank transactions window. To match a transaction click on the expand arrow>>Match transaction>>tick the transaction and Save.
Looking at your screenshot there's duplicate payment transactions which need to be deleted. This can be caused by manually recording a payment transaction, allocating the bank feed transaction or a bank rule.
You should match bank feed transactions if there is an existing MYOB Business/Essentials transaction. If there is no existing MYOB Business/Essentials transaction you can allocate the bank feed transaction. This will automatically record an MYOB Business/Essentials transaction.
If you provide details on your other issues I'll be happy to help.

Hi Tracey
Your response was extremely helpful.
I had a bank rule which was effective on the previous version of Essentials. On the new version it was creating a double up.
I also needed to match the super payment that came through the bank feed to the PS payment transaction - something previously not required on the old version.
Thank you for responding so quickly!
