I've asked and complained to be put back to the original but it falls on deaf ears.

This is the very worst thing that could have happened this time of year. It feels like learning the whole system all over again and it seems to be full of bugs. I hate it. Please at least give us the option to go back to the old style.
Accounting is taking so much longer than it should and at this time of year it's hurting so much!
Ps. I absolutly hate it.

I'd like to revert back to the original essentials, I've read a heap of comments and complaints all over the internet.

Could not agree more.
The new Essentials has so many floors and less user friendly functionality for what I need than the original Essentials. Both the desktop version and the app.
So many things that used to be simple require an extra click, or a few extra presses of the tab button. The description column in an invoice is too narrow and the character limit has been reduced.
AND THE LAG!!! Everything seems to take at least 50% longer to load! That's the part that drives me mad the most.

The whole concept of Essentials was just to do the basics well and efficiently for business owners. Simple tasks like creating an invoice and checking Statements are now taking 3 times as long! Before I could click a button at the EOM to see all Statements before printing or emailing and now the "upgrade" limits you to seeing only 30 Statements at a time, then it downloads every single Statement as a separate PDF not just one file like before - so frustrating and time consuming. And don't get me started on Payroll - its so complicated now. Sure the upgrade has new features/details and looks pretty but you now need to spend time interpreting what it all means. 45mins on hold to phone support atm and counting.....

This upgrade has been so bad, we are now looking at moving to Xero.
We are a law firm and invoice through our legal software, and used to heavily rely on the 'Notes' section in banking transactions to match up the payment with the correct client/invoice number. In the 'upgraded' Essentials there is a field called 'Line Description' but it does not carry over in the search function. We now have no way of searching for a payment or disbursement from a particular client.
This is going to add hours of extra work - it used to be so simple. Why was this all changed???
I have already been on the phone with MYOB for over 3 hours and they don't even understand our problem, nor have they called me back as promised.

I've instructed my accountant to move us to Xero.
We are a software company, and if we treated our customers like this, they'd be leaving too.

There is another thread on here where I stated my frustrations, I've wasted a day trying to make this work but it doesn't.
They don't care at all, I've looked into xero too and I made a few complaints and a few posts in the hope they may fix the issues or migrate me back to what I had.
If they don't I'm definitely going, I've been loyal for years and when you need them they don't care.

Not sure that they do monitor this forum as I have not had any of my issues/concerns addressed to date. Maybe there are just too many comments/complaints for them to keep up with!!

Totally agree. Spent 3 hours getting invoices out last Friday when it is usually painless and under 1 hour.
I am interested to know how you got the invoices into order ?
