BUG: Quantity numbers are missing from the General Ledger Report

Hi MYOB,

Why are the quantities missing from the General Ledger report.  I'm trying to reconcile the number of cattle sold for a client and the quantity is missing.

How else can I get these details??

Re: Quantity numbers are missing from the General Ledger Report

Hi @AlanT

Quantities is a column that you can add to the General Ledger report through the Customise button:

If you have that column added and it not showing what you would expect for the numbers I would recommend reviewing the transactions to ensure that the quantity has been added to the transaction. I would also make sure you are checking the allocation account which the quantity values are assigned to, not the bank account allocation.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Quantity numbers are missing from the General Ledger Report

Hi @Steven_M

AND I have to expand the account details to get this information, rather than the totals showing when the report is summarised??

Re: Quantity numbers are missing from the General Ledger Report

Hi @Steven_M

Still more problems...

Natural increase and deaths have to be entered with a General Journal entry with a dollar value of $0.

Therefore, although there are entries to both these accounts with quantity values, they do not appear in the General Ledger Report.  I guess because the balance is $0.

Re: Quantity numbers are missing from the General Ledger Report

Hi @AlanT

The General Ledger report you have showcased is what I would expect from the type of transactions that you have recorded. The Quantity function that the General Ledger report is pulling the Quantity values that have been entered on the Banking (Spend money and Receive money) and Journal transactions. Quantity from sales or purchase transactions is not reflected in those values at this time - this is similar to the Original MYOB Essentials platform.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Quantity numbers are missing from the General Ledger Report

Thanks @Steven_M

This seems to be another feature that has only been half implemented in the software and therefore rather useless as the correct quantity is also not coming through in Accountant's Enterpise Statutory Reporter.

I would have thought that as the new essentials was supposed to be a better and improved product, that this would have been fixed.

:-(
