Invitation problem/ add users

We use MYOB Essentials to do a project. My group member sent an invitation to me and cancelled the invitation. Now they cannot send invitation email to me again. When they the type correct email address,  it shows 'There is already a user with this email. Enter a different email.' How do we solve the problem. I need to join the project as soon as possible.
