Hi all,

It’s been a very busy few weeks since our last community update.

Many MYOB team members have been travelling around New Zealand and Australia for our Partner Connect events, which have been attended by thousands of MYOB Certified Consultants, Bookkeepers and Accountants. I enjoyed meeting many of our Partners at last Friday’s event in Melbourne. It’s a shame I couldn’t get up to the Gold Coast event to see MYOB CEO Tim Reed’s Ice Bucket Challenge though!

There’s also been plenty of news in recent weeks. MYOB has posted a record half-year result in the first half of 2014, building on the leadership in cloud accounting solutions. Usage of MYOB accounting software is now more than four times our nearest competitor. MYOB will invest $40 million in research and development this financial year to help make business life easier for its clients.

MYOB has also announced it has signed an agreement to purchase PayGlobal, which offers HR and payroll solutions to companies in Australia and New Zealand. “The union leverages the strengths of both organisations to broaden the range of leading HR and payroll solutions MYOB provides to the mid-to-large-size market in Australia and New Zealand and creates new opportunities for PayGlobal clients,” says Tim Reed.

MYOB has also signed a multi-million deal with Acumatica, one of the world’s fastest growing providers of cloud-based enterprise resource planning software. It is another deal that will strengthen our online offerings for the benefit of mid-sized companies.

And you might have noticed MYOB has been recently making a splash with PayDirect advertisements, with a TV campaign launching earlier in the month. Which one is your favourite? The barber? The personal trainer? Or do you prefer some (adults-only) Candy?

It’s also been another busy week here on the Community Forum, with over 1000 posts in the past seven days, including 400 from MYOB staff. We were also thrilled to welcome another 350 members to the community. We hope you find the forum is an invaluable resource, as well as fun and friendly!

Our top contributors this week were @PaulBihet, @The_Doc, @TonyLane@Dee-Workman and @ronatbas. Many thanks for all your invaluable assistance to our community members. And a special well done to Paul who had a whopping seven posts marked as Accepted Solutions.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Love your work,
