sick leave entitlements reached

for one employee, her leave count shows -1, that means that she had one more over her entitlement? does MYOB calculate this automatically into a holiday leave after the entitlement is reached?

thanks

Re: sick leave entitlements reached

Hi @escargot

A current negative balance amount of sick leave in MYOB Essentials (NZ) indicates that the employee has been paid out more leave than they have accrued. For example, the employee has been paid 6 days of sick leave but has only accrued 5 days in their employment.

Note: Sick leave is different from annual leave and your additional days paid off as sick leave will not overflow to annual leave hours.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: sick leave entitlements reached

Thanks

so if it doesn't affect paid leave (holidays), it is then just unpaid sick leave- you don't have to pay those hours/ days?

Re: sick leave entitlements reached

Hi @escargot

If the current sick leave is a negative situation it will sit on the employee's record until the employee's next sick leave anniversary date. At this date, the Annual Entitlement will roll through and be added to the current balance available to give you a new current balance.

Kind regards,
Steven
