Amount refunded cannot be more than the amount remaining to be refunded

Hi,

I have made a refund for 2 bank transactions, the total is the sum of those two bank transactions.

I have matched one of them, but when I tried to match the other one, MYOB does not let me to do so.

The amount is exactly the same as the balance as shown on the picture, but it said

"Please fix the following problem(s):
  • Amount: Amount refunded cannot be more than the amount remaining to be refunded."

Please kindly help and advise how I can match the balance for reconciliation. Thank you.

Re: Amount refunded cannot be more than the amount remaining to be refunded

Hi @mabelwmp

Just testing the same situation as yourself I was able to replicate that exact error message.

However, the workaround I was able to do achieve to allow that transaction to be generated was to go to Purchases>>Process Supplier Return and manually select to create that refund from supplier transaction for that remaining amount. Once that transaction had been manually added I was able to go into the Banking transactions and match the bank transaction to the manually generate supplier refund transaction.

Kind regards,
Steven
