Cannot Save Allocated Transactions

I go to Bank Transactions, see a transaction, click 'allocate' - or use the drop down and allocate the transaction and click save.

MYOB then says "transaction allocated". Then look down the list and alas, the transaction is still there, unallocated.

I have retried in multiple web browsers, with multiple transactions, multiple computers, multiple allocation methods etc. It just won't remember that I have actually allocated the transaction.

Re: Cannot Save Allocated Transactions

Hi @PMIAdel

Welcome to the Community Forum!!

The process of allocation can fail sometimes if the program thinks the next sequential reference number used for the allocation has already been used for another transaction. In order to resolve it,

1. Manually create a receive money or spend money transaction, for the date and amount against the account you wanted the allocation.

Note:
Withdrawl ($) = Spend Money
Deposit ($) = Receive Money

2. Change the reference number of the transaction to be the next higher in the sequence. eg, if the Receive Money transaction number says RM000001, change this to RM000002.

3. Now match the bank feed to this manually created transaction.

This should have now reset the corrupt reference number sequence.

4. Continue to allocate the rest of your bank transactions as normal.

Let us know how you go on.

Kind regards,
Komal
