General Journals - Account searching

In General Journals - Journal Entry I want to enter the Account. I start typing what I want being say "3-1600 Historical Banking" all of which I know best by their codes ie "3-1600"

The auto populating drop down box is not capable of searching by number ie "3-1600" in fact it actively blocks them

Please adjust MYOB allow searching by account number

Re: General Journals not allowing 2-1800 Accounts Payable entries

@GRNerd

I agree with MYOB that Journals should not be used to post to Receivables and Payables.

A Tax Accountant should be well aware of this.

If they are not ask them to read the MYOB Support Notes.

Otherwise, the Accountant can have the Bookkeeper post the transactions.

Re: General Journals - Account searching

Hi @GRNerd

I noticed that you posted this question twice, I have moved one post to this thread to make it easier for other users to find the answer.

We do understand that being able to search by account number is a feature that clients would like to see, however, we currently don't have an ETA for when it will be in the product.

As @DuncanS stated it is recommended that you don't record journals to the Receivable or Payables accounts.

Please post again if you have further questions.

Cheers,
Tracey

Re: General Journals - Account searching

Thanks Tracy BUT it should have had it's own post as my two posts are UNRELATED that is why I seperated them. Please split them as intended.

Re: General Journals - Account searching

Hi @GRNerd

Sorry about that one. I've moved that enquiry to a separate thread and responded for you:

General Journals not allowing 2-1800 Accounts Payable entries

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: General Journals - Account searching

Thanks for moving that post to a new post BUT can you also clean up this posting

You will see my 2nd post is the one that should be gone. Post 3 should have followed that moved post. And your moving one and my thanks I guess moves too (or vaporises).
