MYOB Essentials Automatic log out after period of time

Hi Everyone

 

Products: MYOB Essentials

 

We've had some reports of MYOB Essentials users being logged out automatically from Essentials after 20 minutes. Typically, this will occur when you have the same window open for an extended period of time.

 

If impacted, we recommend ensuring that you've updated the necessary flags in your browser as this has resolved the issue for a number of clients.

 

We recommend consulting with an IT specialist to understand the implications of updating these flags.

 

Google Chrome:

1.    Open Google Chrome
2.    Type chrome://flags/ in your address bar
3.    Find following flags and disable those:

  • SameSite by default cookies
  • Cookies without SameSite must be secure

Once done, relaunch Google Chrome and log into Essentials again.


Safari

In Safari, choose Preferences and then click on Privacy Deselect the following options :

  • Block all cookies
  • Remove stored cookies and data
  • Prevent cross-site tracking

In addition to that, below are a couple more tips to avoid being logged out: 

 

  • Save the transaction/window you're working on regularly 
  • Use a different browser, as the issues appear to be browser-specific.

Our team is still investigating this situation for impacted users.  However, some changes have made this week to the MYOB Essentials platform to help mitigate that situation.

Due to the complex nature of the MYOB Essentials platform and other components that attach to it, we do want to acknowledge that this is not a full fix and would not fix it for all users in all situations.  The team is still investigating all options to have a full remedy in place for impacted users.

We do also want to appreciate that this is a very long outstanding issue for those impacted users and thank users for their patience while our product teams do investigate this.
