Old bank account in a negative

Hi,

 

Recently closed an old bank account and opened a new one but the old bank account is coming up a negative in MYOB. I have unlinked the old account so it doesn't affect the dashboard anymore but when I have a look at our yearly report/balance sheet it's takes the negative in to account. How do I fix this or do I need to contact the old bank?

Hi @Leanne-s 

 

You can delete an account in your MYOB Essentials Accounts Lists via your Business Name Menu (top right)>>Accounts Lists>>select the account and click the ellipses button (...)>>click Delete.

 

Please note that can't delete accounts that have been used in transactions, or accounts for which you’ve imported bank statements. Instead, you can make these accounts inactive.

To make an account inactive click your business name and choose Accounts list>>click Edit accounts>>select the account you want to make inactive and deselect Active>>click Save.
