Rounding in Payroll (MYOB Essentials)

Our staff receive an annual salary paid monthly. MYOB calculates the monthly hours as 164.66667. When a staff member takes a day of leave, we enter 7.6 hours as annual leave hours and reduce the normal hours.

The problem is that MYOB rounds the normal hours to 2 decimal places when we make this adjustment which results in a pay difference of a few cents.

We have explained to our staff that ths is caused by an MYOB error and have made a temporary fix by creating a payroll allowance called "Payroll rounding adjustment" but this is a very inefficient and unprofessional solution.

Would you please advise when this rounding problem can be resolved.

Re: Rounding in Payroll (MYOB Essentials)

Hi @davidfw,

Thank you very much for your feedback. Our developers are aware of this problem, our developers are still reviewing this matter.

As I understand, to resolve this problem, the pay run process will need to be rewritten. Our developers are currently in the process of revisiting and enhancing the payroll experience in Essentials Accounting, hopefully this one will be addressed in the next few months.

Please do not hesitate to post again if you have more queries.

Cheers,
Clover
