Salary Sacrifice showing after tax

Hi

I have an employee that when I print out Payroll Register, shows her Salary Sacifice showing as Deductions after tax but should be Before Tax like the other employees. They are also paying Additional Employee Super which is showing correctly After Tax. They are set up as per other SS employees. Just wondering why this would be the case. How do I correct it?

Thanks

Re: Salary Sacrifice showing after tax

Hi @Sandra1,

In the Payroll Categories window, have you set up the salary sacrifice payroll category under the Superannuation tab or under the Deductions tab? In the Superannuation tab, if you've set up the payroll category to be of the Conbribution Type 'Salary Sacrifice (deduction)', it'll automatically set the payroll category as before tax. If, however, you've set it up under Deductions, you'll notice the 'Exempt' option isn't greyed out. This is because you can select whether or not the amount should be included before or after tax is taken. Could you please confirm how you've set it up so we can assist further?

Warm Regards,

Tallie

Hi Tallie

The Salary Sacifice is set up under the Superannuation tab with Contribution Type SS deduction.

Thanks

Re: Salary Sacrifice showing after tax

Hi @Sandra1,

Thanks for confirming. You mentioned you noticed this issue looking at the Payroll Register report - was it that the employee's taxes was higher than the others that made you think the salary sacrifice was set to calculate after tax? If so, would you be able to confirm whether or not the employee in question pays extra tax (you can check this by going into the employee's card file > Payroll Details > looking at the Extra Tax field)?

Warm Regards,

Tallie

Re: Salary Sacrifice showing after tax

Hi Tallie

No the employee is not paying extra tax. I ended up getting hold of customer support. In the process payroll process the SS is actually getting taxed before tax, but on the report (Payroll Register) is listed with Employee Additional Super After tax, and they are unsure as to why. But the system is calculating it correctly.

Thanks

Sandra
