Superannuation Payment to under 18

Hello Everyone,

Can someone form MYOB help me with my super for under 18 question?

As per ATO rule, if any employee working less than 30 hours but earning more than $450 I don’t have to pay super. However, MYOB Essentials calculates super by it as per normal employee?

Is there a fix required or I have set each employee? If someone can help me would be appreciated.

I attached ATO Super Tool Calculator.

Generally, your employer must pay super for you if you are:

  • 18 years old or over, and are paid $450 or more (before tax) in a calendar month
  • under 18 years old, being paid $450 or more (before tax) in a calendar month and work more than 30 hours in a week.

This applies whether you work casual, part-time or full-time hours, and if you are a temporary resident. You may also be eligible if you are a contractor who is paid primarily for labour, even if you have an Australian business number (ABN).

Re: Superannuation Payment to under 18

Hey there @pandkpatel

there are two methods you could use for this.
1. Go to the employees card,  then to the super tab,
in there change the 9.5% to Zero
this will only effect this employee,
make sure to push the save button,
when you do the next pay for this employee the super will calculate as zero
method 2
when processing the employees pay zero out the super then.

I hope this helps
