System crashes and bounces 'out' while in use

Recently we've noticed that MYOB Essentials has become unstable, regularly bouncing us out during a session. For the last couple of weeks this has been an annoyance but not critical.

 

However since the long outage of last week, the system has been regularly crashing. We're getting:

- total lockups of the system requiring restarts of both MYOB and our system to sort

- "are you sure you want to leave this page" dialogues while entering invoices and now

- system shut downs while entering invoices and quotes

 

This is extremely frustrating and time consuming as we enter long invoice/quote dialogues and a crash half way through means starting again.

 

Help!

Hi @Brattman

 

Sorry to hear that you've been experiencing this. It has been recently identified that the issue of logging out of Essentials is associated with a new feature of Google Chrome released in February which blocks cookies associated with cross-site resources. Other browsers may have this feature turned on too.

 

In order to resolve it, the flags related to these cookies have to be manually disabled by following the given steps:
1.    Open Google Chrome
2.    Type chrome://flags/ in your address bar
3.    Find following flags and disable those:

  • SameSite by default cookies
  • Cookies without SameSite must be secure

Once it's done, relaunch Google Chrome and login to Essentials again.

I've given it a shot and will let you know the outcome.

 

Just completed a conversation with Steven_M and finished with the following note as a suggestion ....

 

"It seems to me that a really smart feature would be 30-60 sec 'auto saves' for both invoices and quotes. With all the built-in flexibility the system has to alter and delete all or parts of these docs, auto save has to make sense. I'll leave that one with you!"
