Taxes

Hi, MYOB Essentials has built in taxes ABN, CAP, FRE, GNR, GST, INP and NTR. I have been trying to navigate the software as how can I add N-T and EXP tax code. Can I possible do this?

Thank you,

Shepai

Re: Taxes

Hi @Shepai-8-2017

MYOB Essentials does have a series of in-built tax codes. These can be seen in your MYOB Essentials business via the Business Name Menu (top right)>>GST settings>>View tax types.

In terms of the tax codes you have indicated:

  • N-T being a not reportable is called NTR (Not Reportable) in MYOB Essentials
  • EXP sounds like a custom tax code in AccountRight and thus would not be possible in MYOB Essentials. If required, I would recommend consulting an Accountant in regards to the use of that tax code and looking into using a similar tax code in MYOB Essentials for your transactions.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Taxes

Hi Steve,

Thank you so much for your help and advice. EXP is a custom tax code for items we buy overseas. I have been reading the different ATO taxes/ rules and it can really be confusing sometimes. MYOB Community is really a big help.

Regards,

Shepai
